Qualifications of NEBOSH

It provides qualifications from introductory levels to professional level. There are three categories of NEBOSH qualification – awards, certificate and diploma. Health and safety at work is an award qualification. There are many national certificates in construction, health and safety, fire safety and risk management and environmental management. International general certificate in occupational health and safety, construction, health and safety are among other certificates. There are also diplomas such as national and international diploma in occupational health and safety, diploma in environmental management. The new fire safety and risk management certificate has been introduced in response to the annual expenditure on fire damage. The qualification is about the causes of fire, protection and prevention techniques. The qualified persons can take the responsibilities of fire at work, they can conduct fire risk assessments and prevent loss of life and property. NEBOSH health and safety at work qualification is available in English, Arabic, Russian and Mandarin. These qualifications are also recognised by institution of occupational safety and health (IOSH). NEBOSH has also launched new qualification for process industries. NEBOSH assessments and examinations are conducted by qualified staff, many of them are chartered safety and health practitioners. These NEBOSH qualifications are valid in many parts of the world. NEBOSH is also an ISO 9001:2008 registered organisation. It is approved by Scottish Qualifications authority (SQA).
