I was just reading through the 'Country Specific Guide' and it asks to include a birth certificate or "any other official document confirming relationship for you and each of your family members"

My husband is from Syria, and it's no problem for him to get the birth certificate, but it will only have his parents names on it. I'm a bit confused with the wording. Do we need to provide proof that he is related to his sisters, as well?

no, not at all. re-read your statement again. Birth certificate OR ...

He does not need to confirm relationship to his siblings, so far as I know. He only need state the relation to them in the proper form of his application. They will not need any kinds of clearances or medical checks as they are not 'family' in the sense of immigration purposes. The only ones that qualify there are his children, if he has any, that are NOT already Canadian citizens.

Your husband's birth certificate is enough. This form is also used by people sponsoring children, so the part asking about an official document to confirm relationships applies to them.

Thank you thank you! I assumed as much, I just want to be as sure as possible as I'm paranoid about making a mistake with the application!
