Put in the wrong Visitor Record document number on my application for Extension of my Visitor Visa

Hi, I would like to ask for help regarding on what to do if you mistakenly put in an older visitor record document number on your application form for extension of visitor visa? will this have a big impact on my application to the point they may even refuse it? what should i do to fix this??
