PRTD valid time

Hi all:
Could some one give the PRTD valid time? 6 months?
prepare apply PRTD. currenlty outside ot Canada.
I could not find the information via CIC. should I check with local embassy?

Not sure the experiences of others would matter. The context of your situation matters. Anecdotally, have seen reports of multiple entry, multiple year PRTDs for PRs who reside abroad with a Canadian citizen spouse; and also single entry documents with six months of time to use it.

Stuff happens, and beyond that some say this or that, so I do not dispute reports referring to having "heard" otherwise, but generally a multiple use (multiple-entry) PR Travel Document is issued for as long as the PR's passport is valid, UP TO FIVE years.

It doesn’t look like you have been living abroad with your Canadian spouse so it is very unlikely that you will get a multiple entry PRTD with a long expiry date. If approved you are likely looking at a single entry PRTD with an expiry date of 3-6 months.
