OK,

I have had a look at the requirements but I am a little lost to be honest.

I emailed several visa companies that say I do not fit under a skilled worker programme. Fine. They then go on to say we need to do a full check a a cost of £190.00 or whatever they are charging to see if other routes are possible. At the end they say you may still not qualify.

Why cant they just give you what options are available like

What about the self employed nominee programme. - However Im not an athlete or singer? I have had my own business here in the UK for 8 + years window cleaning, carpet cleaning, office cleaning painting and I think I would manage to start easily over in Canada once I knew the laws and taxations etc.

Can someone kindly let me know where if I am eligible to be self employed to enter Canada. Is there a set amount of money I need to invest to be self employed?

Then I have looked at the low entry levels nominee programmes which I might look into deeper but I guess getting a job offer here in the UK to go over is fairly hard if not nigh impossible.

Many thanks

Dave

You don't have to pay anybody to tell you things. Just do your own research. Immigration is here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp

Especially look into Provincial nominee programs for their investor/entrepreneur programs. I don't know how much money you have but you used to be able to get away with investing as little as $150,000 in some provinces. More of them are asking for something like 250. Still a lot less than the federal program. You would have to have business experience and a business plan as well. Your PR may be conditional on running a business in that province for a couple of years.

Getting a job offer is the other option. Yes, it will probably be hard. Are you young enough for a working holiday visa? It would get you a one year open work permit you could use to find a job and get it changed to a regular extendable work permit later and get sponsored through the employer if you are lucky. It has to be a skilled job though. If you were to get a job in construction like a house painter, that is a skilled job. Being a cleaner is not a skilled job unless you are a manager.

Do you have a spouse? If yes, would the spouse have an easier time getting a job offer or maybe want to study? If your spouse is a worker with a skilled job or a student, you get an open work permit too.
