Hey guys, I have some backstory and a question.
I applied for BC PNP in january of 2022; cutting it close for the documents to come through, had to apply for closed work permit on march 4th while waiting for the nomination documents to arrive. My closed WP was processed within 10 days, rejected due to the lack of certificate; my certificate came 10 days later. Reapplied on the 23rd with all documents and have been waiting for a decision since then. I believe the initial 10 days processing was due to my having maintained status at the time and my application was prioritised (I was relying on the 3 month processing time).
Currently I am reaching the 6 month (180 day) limit for applying for permanent residency, I have had no updates on my restoration of status/closed WP application, do I need to wait for my new work permit before I can apply for permanent residency? My employer has had me on indefinite leave for this whole time since my visa was rejected and is keeping my current job/job offer open.
would this count as the extenuating circumstances that BC PNP would extend my nomination under?
