Hello,

Received an email from the embassy in Austria to provide the office with an original passport for in order that an immigrant visa be affixed. Also to provide a photocopy of the passport page containing your personal details and photo.

The question is, she has been using her new passport that contains her married last name. We even photocopied her new one for extra documents the embassy needed earlier. Do we need to send them her original passport that contains her maiden last name??

As for photocopying....photocopy the page in the passport that shows her photo and her details. They already have the small photos they can use of my wife in her application. I assume thats right?

Was her "old" passport (the one with her maiden name) not "voided" upon the issuance of her new one (with married name)?? We're allowed only one valid passport, both here in Canada and even for my wife from the Philippines. I would go with the new one, perhaps provide photocopies of both and explain (if you wish). Yes, I would say your assumption is correct.
