Protected person updates Quebec ( march 2022-may 2022)

I applied for PR in March 2023, but I haven’t received any updates on my application since then. Could you please let me know the current processing time and if there’s any particular reason for the delay?

Permanent Residence – Protected Person / Dependent Child in Quebec
August 2023: My parents made an asylum claim in Canada and included me as a dependent child. I was 20 years old at the time.
February 2025: My parents’ refugee claim was accepted, and they were granted protected person status.
March 26, 2025: My CSQ application was submitted to Quebec (MIFI).
March 27, 2025: My parents submitted their permanent residence application to IRCC, including me as a dependent child living outside Canada.
October 3, 2025: IRCC requested Additional Family Information (IMM 5406).
October 8, 2025: The completed IMM 5406 was submitted to IRCC.
January 15, 2026: IRCC sent me a letter directly confirming that I was included as a family member in my parents’ permanent residence application.
January 26, 2026: I submitted all the documents requested by IRCC.
July 3, 2026: I received the Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL) and Medical Examination Instructions.
July 7, 2026: Biometrics completed.
July 9, 2026: Medical examination completed.
July 10, 2026: Medical results were submitted to IRCC.
Since July 2026: No further updates.

It will take between 5-10 years for you to get PR.

I wanted to ask you something based on your experience or what you’ve heard from other applicants. For a dependent child living abroad who was included in the parents’ application, how exactly does the child obtain the CSQ? Is it through a letter from IRCC requesting the CSQ, which the family then takes/sends to MIFI? If so, at what stage of the PR process does IRCC usually issue that letter?
In my case, my parents already received their CSQ in May 2025, and they had included me as their dependent child living abroad in their application of CSQ. I’m trying to understand what the next step is for my CSQ and when I should expect IRCC to request it.
Would suggest posting under the Quebec immigration section. The CSQ process impact all the Quebec applications. Think you need to prepare yourself for long period of time where nothing happens. Although your parents got their CSQ in May 2025 they that is not a long time when it comes to Quebec immigration. Many will wait years with no changes to their applications. Are you in Canada and if so what is your status? Have you explored other ways to immigrate to Canada. For example if you started to learn French today and were willing to immigrate outside of Quebec you would be able to obtain PR so much faster than getting PR through your parents. You would also be able to get married, live with a partner, etc.
