Is it possible to ask how you know whether the file has passed the security screening or not?

When all the steps are completed they make a decision on a file. So, my security screening was completed. I also can see it in my Refugee portal, the place I applied for the refugee protection. It shows the exact date the security was completed.

I am a Rohingya, My family and I (my wife and child 3years) submitted our refugee claim in April 2024. Last month (May 2026), I was informed that my background and security screening had been completed.
Could someone please explain how the Less Complex Claims Process works? Does the IRB automatically assess and notify claimants if their file is considered less complex, or do I need to contact the IRB and request consideration under this process?
Also, how can I find out whether my claim has been categorized as a less complex file?

The (RPD) automatically reviews all refugee claims to determine whether they are suitable for either
File Review Process (decision without a hearing), or
Short Hearing Process (lasting 1–2 hrs).
Every case is assessed individually, Rohingya refugee claims often involve well-documented country conditions and may be suitable for streamlined processing if identity and security issues are clear and there are no complicating factors. The final decision remains with the RPD.
The file review process without a hearing is on pause so believe after it was discovered that asylum claims were being approved without hearings. Tough to say what will happen to the program.
