Hello community,

I am a devastated woman. I have been in Canada for almost 3 years where I am a protected person. My application for PR is on the process and taking very long.

Living away from my kids for so long is destroying me.
I am very well integrated in the society ( qualified job and member of a Canadian body). I am financially ready to support my kids during the visit.
I am not allow to visit my home country and my only happiness will be to hold again my kids even for few days.
Is it possible in my case to apply for a visitor visa for my kids? If yes what will be the process?
I really count on your advices as my life is miserable.

Thank you

Yes - you can certainly try to have your children apply for visitor visas. You can find the application details here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/tourist.asp

Unfortunately due to your status in Canada, there is probably a high likelihood their applications will be refused since CIC may suspect you want them to remain in Canada long term. However you can certainly try. If their father is still active in their lives (i.e. is the primary care-giver) and will be remaining in your home country - that may help to get their visas approved.

Thank you so much for the advice Scylla. I will give a try.
But I don't get the philosophy of CIC. How can a woman stay many years without seeing her children knowing that she can't visit them?
