I went to a country other than my country of citizenship and visited my family for abit more than two months. While returning back to Canada I was asked to go to the immigration section while pr card/citizens were had a separate section. the cbsa officer(immigration officer) asked me couple of questions and I answered them all truthfully. Now my question is that is this process of asking questions normal? If it is not normal will it have affect on my pr application which is in process? Cause one of the question was about submission of pr application.

Thank u

It will be helpful saying the question you were asked however since you did not make the mistake of visiting your country of Citizenship, you should be fine. Asking Question at the point of entry is normal and routine for CBSA Officers. I know Passport carrying citizens that were asked questions when returning back. when next you visit outside Canada(before getting your PR)be careful not to spend too long because that can raise unnecessary suspicion anytime not more than 1 month should be reasonable

Thanks Obib for the answer! Most of the questions were related to if I have visited any other country and of course the duration of my stay. Now I am really worried it might prolong the already prolonged process of my pr app :(

Am sure you've got nothing to be worried about since you did not demonstrate that you received protection from the same country you fled from by visiting the country.Protected persons can visit any country other than where they fled from.
