Proof of sponsorship to the sponsor?

Father's name on my date of birth certificate is misspelled. Indian passport shows father's name as well. and on my previous passport my fathers name is correctly spelled on my passport.(Now i have Canadian passport)
Can I use it as a proof of sponsorship to sponsor (I am sponsoring my parents)

For now you can not sponsor parents and grand parents, CIC has put a stop to these applications. You can only apply for a super visa for them. see here : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2011/2011-11-04.asp

for your question about identity - sorry I am not sure how to answer, but wanted to mention the press release to you as you might have to reconsider your options.
