Dear Friends,

I have recently received caips in which i have not been awarded 5 points of my relative in Canada.

I had included copies of my bro's PR card, few bills, pay statement, DL, Bank statement, A document on which father's name was printed.

I am quite astonished to find that I have not been awarded 5 points under family relations in canada.

does LICO(my brother's income) concept employ here?

Any inputs.

thx.

You had to submit your birth certificate and your brother's birth certificate to show at least one parent the same.

How much total points do you get as per capis note,

Proof of Relatives in Canada: - What should we document to earn those 5 adaptability points...

Link From Sir Qorax which is very helpful hope you will get what you looking for,

Warm regards,

IT SHOWS 73,sud have been 78

well, we didnt include 10th certificate tho we had included a document from his
side which showed the father's name.

I guess Driving license was there on which father's name was printed.

datz wat confusing me , why did they still not awarded points for relationship in canada?

So while you didn't get the 5 points for your brother you are still well above the 67 required points. Well done. Congratulations.

Just a thought.

In my observation NDVO have not allotted 5 points for relatives to anyone(Pre-June). Pls correct me if I am wrong..
Maybe they will add the 5 points after background checks.....

Nope, a lot of cases where the points of adaptability has given if well documented, and also have to show that the person residing in CANADA can support the person claiming adaptability points, In the capis note if the LICO is met then 5 points can be awarded if not 5 points is not given..Whats the capis note has stated in LICO...

actually they havent mentioned abt lico in caips, I was jst assuming it to be the reason
since no other apparent reason for not awarding 5 points.

actually the bank statement showed only 1800cad(final balance) in his account, and i guess, it cud be the reason.
isnt it?

link might give you a idea....
this one is for sponsorship....
In my opinion Yep LICO is the reason...
Warm regards,

@ spartan
but the point is,

is Lico concept applicable here?

coz we are applying on our own, and have shown them sufficient funds.

thx.

Yes although we are applying on our own, The LICO comes into affect when you are claiming the additional points on behalf of the person who is residing in Canada, The point is given not about how strong you are but with regards to the purchasing power of the person from whom you are claiming adaptability points...

Proof of relatives is not benefiting much to applicant. Inspite of providing so many documents, they still find reason for not giving points.

This was the reason, where I excluded my relatives in points calculation(also obligation from them which I don't want) while submitting full documents to LVO. I had written cover letter for relatives for not to include them in point calculation.

Everything is fine for me without relatives.. :-)

thx, pippin :)

No, it doesn't the relative could have 0 income, but if you can prove that s/he is an eligible relative you get 5 points. Note nowhere does it ask for an income tax Option C.
