How much evidence do people submit? Especially when it comes to photos - I laid out all our relationship photos in a slideshow and was planning to print 6 to a page - is this acceptable? Does CIC accept things doublesided? Will save more paper if they do!

thanks!

That's fine, they will accept double sided. You should submit more photos if your spouse is from a non visa exempt country or if your relationship has lots of red flags.

My wife's from Vietnam, therefore we decided to send 400 pics, she got her visa in 5.5 months, but of course this isn't solely because of the number of pics we sent.

You must also selectively choose your photos. Choose photos showing you with your spouse's family and his/her famly and friends, at different functions and events, etc.

CIC do not require a certain number of photos for relationship proof, just include enough photos and other proof which leaves no doubt in their mind that your relationship is legit.

What I did was group photos by event, or location. I had about 10 photos each for major vacations/holidays, family events, parties, and your wedding if you are married.

All in all I had about 50 photos and to be honest that was probably too many. My other relationship proof was extensive.

A good tip is to write on the back of photos when it was taken, where, and who is in the photo. We were smart and actually had some close friends who were in some of the pictures we included write a supporting letter talking about us, our relationship, how they know us, etc.

I actually got copies made of photos so that it is not a loss if they are not returned to me.

Good luck!

Speaking of photos, do you guys think it's a big deal if there are no loose photos on photo paper? All our photos were digital (like most are these days), so we just printed them off on regular paper with 2 - 4 per sheet. Is that fine or do you think we ought to have actual photos on photo paper as well?

Hi,

Double page is fine. Can the photos be clearly viewed when they are printed on white paper? What I did was arranging two photo albums (small photo albums), and have the photos on actual photo papers instead.

Good luck!

We printed our photos out on 8x10 photo paper, two to three to a page, and beside each one put the date, who was in it, and the context of the picture. We showed interaction between the two of us, between each of us and friends/family (important!), and tried to also include candid shots as well.

CIC likes seeing friends family smiling, or acting natural in the context of where the shot was taken and what was going on. If the pictures can be chosen in such a way to show the progression of time (i.e. me getting a little..LITTLE!... heavier, and a tad thinner in the hair department) it lends credence to the time in the relationship.

Choose quality AND quantity. I'd rather provide more proof than not enough.

There is no need for actual photos on photo paper. I did ours in Word, with about 4-10 pics per page.

Our photos were included in the relationship essay. PDF, with photos built into the essay. Black and white, small captions underneath. I believe we sent 15-18 photos max. I can't recall exactly now. Mostly the aim was to include photos from different vacations, or where my spouse or I met family, friends etc.
