Hi all,

So far I have the following as proof of relationship:

- 400 photos from the start of our relationship to now
- Marriage certificate
- Proof of joint bank account
- Family/Friends testimonials
- Our online dating profiles from the site we met and the emails we sent each other
- Entire Facebook Conversation from when we met
- Receipts for 6 month anniversary meal, for furniture, plane tickets
- One letter showing my name with Canada address and a different letter with her name on with Canada address (however, we do not have a letter with both our names on)

Things I can add:

- Love letters (not sure if I should)
- Snapchat conversations

Things I can't add:

- Utility bills as we stay with my wife's parents
- Rent agreement, even though I pay $250 per month, it's not an official tenancy agreement

I wondered if anyone has any suggestions as to anything else I can add? Or anything I may have messed up on?

Cheers,

Ste

You have a lot of good proof. The only advice I have is to maybe cut back on some of the proofs, especially chat logs from facebook and snapchat. Just a few pages of each as CIC views chat logs as low priority. Pics are always good but 400 pictures is a lot. You can get by with 100 quality pics.

You should be good, you're from England, a country with a very high success rate, and your proofs are more than enough.

100 photos is still overkill IMO.

Are you doing your application outland or inland?

We are in the process for applying for my wife inland, but the I also looked at the outland forms. For the outland forms at the end of couple of the forms it says to provide additional pages showing evidence of your relationship and that it is continuing (or something to that effect), but for the inland forms, it never says this.

My wife just filled in the spouse/common-law questionnaire form, and added on a separate sheet the details that they asked:

Explain the type of outings you go on - she wrote about a paragraph about how we go on dinner takes, hang out with friends, have dinner with friends, go hiking together and with friends, and take vacations together (usually back to Germany to visit her family during christmas). She then included about 2 photos per year of trips or hikes we went on together for a total of around 10 photos.

Dates of when I met my wife's close friends and family - this is just like 7 or 8 lines

Date of our wedding, how many people attended, who gave the ceremony - she answered these questions, and attached about 5 pictures from our wedding and reception.

Other than that, there isn't anywhere in any of the application forms or the checklist that asks for more proof about our relationship.
In the checklist there they do ask for more evidence for common-law or conjugal relationship, such as joint accounts, bills, etc., but not for married couples.

Is that pretty much all you guys are including for inland applications where you are married? Or did I miss a document/checklist item that says to provide more proof (like the 100 or so photos, bills, family/friend testimonials, visa stamps, plane tickets, etc.) like the original poster has indicated he and his wife have done?

The OP is doing Outland.

I'm guessing that the reason why the Inland forms do not ask for evidence that the relationship is continuing is because with Inland, you are already living together in Canada. The relationship is continuing that way. Living together is strong proof on its own

Thanks for the info.
In your opinion (or any others that have done inland applications where you are married), is what I have listed for the details that we have provided (with also the photos) enough? They don't even ask for proof that we are living together, other than in the form asking how long we have lived together for, but no bills or anything like that. I guess they assume you are not lying, and that since we are sending the application together with the same address it is enough proof for them?

Your proofs look good given that your wife has a visa exempt passport and your are sponsoring inland.

Yes CIC will assume that if you are sponsoring inland, your spouse is living with you since that is the key requirement. Otherwise you are committing misrepresentation.

Cool, thanks for the advice.
I've also posted this question in the inland 2014 topic.. so I can get a feel of what all of the other inlanders have done.

With all these proofs, can they be photo copies or do they require proper print outs? For example, can i photocopy some of our wedding cards with the personal messages from our close friends or do they want the original?
