I recently returned back home and married my relative. We have been in communication for only 2-3 months. Now our relationship is very genuine, and we are constantly in communication through whatsapp and skype mainly. Should I be worried they speculate anything since we have a short duration of knowing eachother. Do they understand the culture of marrying relatives back home?

as much as they don't like it they do understand the concept of even arranged marriage.

There is a space on the application forms (which form exactly escapes me right now) where they ask about the circumstances of your marriage. Since it was an arranged marriage (I assume), you will have to indicate that on the form. You won't be denied outright for having an arranged marriage but your application will be looked at more closely than one where the husband and wife had a long relationship before the marriage.

There is a big problem with people marrying Canadian permanent residents specifically to get residency themselves. People have even paid Canadians to marry and sponsor them. This is obviously illegal and wrong on many many levels so they want to ensure that your marriage is not one of convenience or solely for the purpose of getting residency. It's not that they are discriminating against your cultural values, but rather that they want to ensure that the people who are sponsored to Canada are in fact in a genuine relationship with their sponsor. So yes, you will be looked at more closely but only because of the few bad apples who have ruined it for the rest of us.

Yes there is a form where you have to mention all detail about your relationship, my advice is to mention your complete involvement in the wedding. keep all gifts exchanging receipts, wedding/honeymoon expenses receipts and show them as a proof, send her flowers and keep the payment receipt to show your interest. tell CIC it was arranged by family but i fell in love with the girl when i saw her very first time. your ID says you are Muslim so like our case, you can say that due to the religious norms we were not "dating" or spending much time with each other but we liked each other and positively approached our families to make it legal and long run relationship.
the purpose of describing this all detail, is to tell CIC that you are in a real relationship plus you are happy to sponsor her with a positive attitude. just be honest but with the complete detail. CIC needs something to accept that yes you are not in a fake relationship.

But I was not in an arranged marriage exactly. I returned back home with the intention of getting married, but it was still my choice and I had minimum time to talk and know my spouse before we agreed to get married.
