Seems it's been a few years since you got married and the time you are now applying to sponsor her. Can't that be a 'red flag'? why didn't you start the sponsorship process immediately after marriage?
I don't think this is a red flag. If anything, it may help prove that it is not a marriage of convenience.

Did you send your wedding certificate together with the application? Have you ever lived together in the past?
Yes. The marriage certificate was sent. I used the services of David Cohen, so everything was complete. We have never lived together in the past.

One word: debt. I wanted to pay off my credit card since it had the airline tickets on it, etc. As soon as my debt was zero, I started the process. It took a year to pay off the debt, hence the process starting a year after marriage.

I talked to one of David Cohen's associates yesterday. She feels I just need to send a letter to the embassy reminding them that since my wife isn't in Canada, having joint anything really isn't possible. She also advised me to send any money transfers made after our application was filed to the embassy. I have around 25 since we filed in June. I also had my wife named as the sole beneficiary on my life insurance policy at work yesterday.

Oh yeah this whole process does put a person in debt! That should be enough information for your application. Good luck!
