Hi guys,

I hope to get some of your expert opinions on this. I've been worried sick whole day about this and couldn't get any clarification. I received my ITA yesterday. In my express entry profile, i included my husband in the application. We put down that he has an aunt who is Canadian citizen. I didn't create the profile myself but my lawyer office helped me with this. Anyway, in her questionnaire, it asked if my husband has any relatives in Canada and my husband answered yes without realizing that only immediate family is qualified. His aunt and his mother are cousins. Their fathers are brothers. They don't have the same parents.

I tried to get an answer from my lawyer today but haven't heard back from her. Hoping if someone can sheds some light on this. Am i completely screwed now? I'm so mad at myself for not being more careful. :'(

It depends.

If you're applying under the FSW program and you need the 5 points to be above 67/100 then yes, you'd be in trouble.

Otherwise ask the lawyer to make the change.
