I agree with you Newyorker, as long as you can use your past/present occupation on the list to get your PR. Don't care what kind of job you will find when you get in, even flipping burgers.

Sure you need a certification to work as an Auditor in Canada if it is required there, but at least you can get in through this new new Occupational List - that was my question. Later you can work as a Janitor if you want to but at least you qualify with new rules and may get your PR and not get refused with refund.

and that's what I was trying to explain, you can claim anything you want on the FSW application form. If you have a degree in history but you were hired to work as a petroleum engineer, well, so much the better for you.

But when you apply for the FSW, it is assumed that you want and will work in your field of expertise (otherwise the program would not make sense). Hence, CIC wants to know how close you are from being allowed to practice your occupation in Canada.
