Good day,

I’m a Manitoba provincial nominee and I would like to clarify if the settlement funds to be presented on the port of entry in Vancouver would be base on the Manitoba requirements or base on the federal requirement.

Thank you.

please clear it out first. what do u mean by MY bank and FALSE statement?

Dear friends, fortunately we managed to resolve the problem with bank (in short, it was some kind of misunderstanding) and I think that everything is going to be all right now, at least I hope so :D Tnx for your interests and sorry for the disturbance :)

Hi,

I have a quick question for you. I am planning to apply for federal skilled category. My wife is accompanying me to Canada and I am currently in Canada. Could you please tell me that can I use my Wife's bank account towards POF. She is not doing any job, she got that money from her father and she is not obligated to return that as it is from a father to a daughter? Please advice

Thanks

Hi Friends

I am planning to land in Toronto June 1st week. Planning to carry 14K CAD.
Can someone advise what is the best form of carrying money (other than cash) to show that as POF at immigration as well.

Note - I do not want to open a Canadian bank account from India.

Can someone please share recent landing experience as well.

Thanks......

Hey guys...

What is the minimum amount in CAD $ per person as POF which we need to take with us while first landing to Canada?

Some say its CAD $ 5,000 per person, some say its 10,000

i know if it is above 10,000 then we need to inform the authorities...any idea what is the procedure for informing them?

3 $18,260
4 $22,170
5 $25,145

- you need to declare the funds when you land, you will receive the customs declaration card in flight, simply fill it and hand it to the authorities

dear, thanks for your reply...are you sure that above is the minimum amount that we must take while moving to Canada...Bcz these are POF needed at the time of application...and if these are the limits then how does it make sense that you should declare the funds if you are carrying more than CAD $ 10,000 because in that case every1 must be carrying more than that...

1. They are needed at the time of application, should be maintained during the application process, and you are expected to have the amount with
you when landing to cover your settlement expenses until you find a source of income in your new country.

2. Not everyone who arrives at the airport is an FSW immigrant, there are also Visitors/Temp. residents/citizens or immigrants of other classes who
may not be required to have funds. Anyways - regardless of your status you should declare amounts that are above 10kCAD at your possession,
otherwise you may face serious consequences if the officers found out.

A question for you, have you received your visa and COPR? If yes - was there a letter in the package from your visa office? That should contain the instructions for landing and answers to your questions.

Can someone help, please?

No... that wont be an issue, they just check total required funds in the account of ur name... thats it
They dont check who transferred what and when.

Mostly CiC will not ask you to show the funds. But they can ask.

Officially, the amount of money you need to support your family is set by the size of your family. Cic updates these amounts every year.

Number of Funds Required
Family Members (in Canadian dollars)
1 $11,931
2 $14,853
3 $18,260
4 $22,170
5 $25,145
6 $28,359
7 or more $31,574

You do not have to show that you have these funds if:

you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada.

Hi buddies,

I have finally booked a KLM ticket to Calgary on 3rd July 2015 from New Delhi. Initially going alone for couple of months to settle down, then followed by my wife and 5 months old son after few months.

Anyone else travelling like me looking for a company?

I also hve a question regarding pof :

Now that I m travlling alone, do I need to carry proof of funds required for single person (around CAD 12k) or do I need to carry pof of all 3 family members (around CAD 18k) even though I m going alone?

If I need to carry single person pof, how much do I need when my wife and son are coming?

Or if i need to carry whole pof of CAD 18k while going alone, do I need to arrange for it again when my wife n son are arriving after few months?

Would really appreciate clarity on pof as it's kind of difficult to arrange it multiple times.

Regards

Hi, i am also trying to figure out this question...in my view, we may need to show entire POF which is required for a family even if principal applicant is traveling alone.

I am planning to complete landing formalities this month, driving from US to Canada. Is a Bank Statement & a letter showing POF in USD acceptable? Or does it have to be in CAD only?

Hi All,

Need information about Foreign Currency Travellers Cheques.
