Guys I just want to confirm if do I really need to show proof of funds even if my visa category is Federal skilled worker with arranged employment opinion? from the CIC website it says there that I don't need to bring with an amount of 11,115 CAD because I have an AEO but when I attended the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar, the officer said that I need to bring that money. Now, I am really confused my flight will be this coming June 24,2013 ,if I really need those money to bring with me then I am in trouble. Please for those Skilled Worker with AEO. Do you really need to bring that big amount of money? Your advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

By this this is this is the CIC guidelines,
You will need to show proof to the Canadian visa office in your home country that you have enough money when you apply to immigrate.

The amount of money you need to support your family is set by the size of your family. We update these amounts every year.
Number of
Family Members Funds Required
(in Canadian dollars) 1 $11,115
2 $13,837
3 $17,011
4 $20,654
5 $23,425
6 $26,419
7 or more $29,414

You do not have to show that you have these funds if:

you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada.

Narscathy you have answered your own question. Go by the official CIC website and you won't go wrong. Even though you don't have to show proof of funds, your life in Canada will be much easier if you are able to bring a contingency fund with you. It can take some weeks before your first pay cheque and that may be a partial cheque depending on your start date. All the best.

Thank you so much for the reply Pippin. I know I need to bring some money with me to support my daily expenses whilst waiting for my first pay cheque. I really do appreciate your feedback.

You have a good day!!! :D :D

2. And, any background checks will be done now after this?

3. How much time it will take now to complete the process and what process is remaining?

hi,
i my husband and my 18 mnths son are going to land in toronto in coming nov .
i had a question about POF on landing, apart from pre opening a bank a/c in scotia bank before landing in canada are fixed deposit certificates counted as a valid thing for POF or do we have to liqidate those fixed deposits into cash and deposit in the pre opened bank account for scotia bank. i was thinking of depositing some amt in bank take some in hard cash say around 1000 to 1200 and not touch the fixed deposits as if now and carry the certificates as it is to show .... mayb if i need them only shall i liquidate them and use them. The FD amt is a part of the total POF ie 17000 cad for 3 what as if i have .
pl suggest

No FD certificate allowed

Hello,

I am new to the board. We are in the process of applying under NOC1112/FSW. I know it is bit late to apply...but still taking chance considering only 28 successfull completed applications as of now.. WES in the process. IELTS is over. We stuck with settlement funds requirement (total 4 members) ment in Sch 3- Economic Class. I, as principal applicant, cannot make the entire CAD 20600 from my FDs / savings accounts.

(a) Whether the bank balance & FD of spouse can be considered for meeting the requirement of CAD 20600 ?

(b) What ratio of above funds shall be from principal applicant only.

(c) I heard somewhere on this forum that it is OK, if spouse gives written consent to the principal applicant to use his/her funds for immigration to Canada. That letter to be attached with the application.

Regards

Just to input my experience. I've been asked about proof of fund by the immigration officer at the time of landing. I showed her a bank certificate, which was accepted by her,

Just for information

For POF what value of CAD in INR is considered by CHC today

My application was recieved by CIC on 12 June 2013. My bank statement was showing the required amount as proof of funds. My question is do I need to maintain the same balance in my account untill the whole process is done?
Thanks in advance
