Hi All,

Is there requirement that the funds need to be maintained for any period of time in the bank accounts? Will the statement balance be ok or is there a requirement on how long it has to be maintained?

Thanks,
SJR_Spencer.

Its should be in the account for 6 months prior to eapr

No minimum requirement for duration. As long as you can explain the source of funds

No but if the funds are from 6 months or more you dont have to prove that where they came from. Until or unless IRCC asks for additional documents like past 2 years of bank statement which 95% does not happen.

And if you had to prove the source of funds, how should you do that?

If you had borrowed from someone than with giftdeed and bank statement showing transaction.

In this case statements need not to be six months old and just for funds transfer, right?

Hi , my question is in regards to gift deed.
So when your father makes a gift deed along with affidavit, in the Letter of Emplaination, can i show a joint account (with father) as my saving account?

Father Account - ABC bank
My Saving Account - XYZ bank

Can this XYZ account be a joint account with my father? if not I have another independent account on my name - DEF bank but this one is dormant as it is not being used for over 2 years, re activation can be a concern ?

Please advise, will be grateful to you.
