I have query about proof of funds requirement for FSW immigration.

I have to show ~CAD18K. I have put this money recently in account. Could any one confirm how long bank statemnet should be maintained?

It has to be more than six months to be shown at the time VO asks for it. for submission to CIC with application don't submit bank statement. give a balance certificate only.

Should I get Balance certificate from bank?

Do I need to submit source of funds at this stage or not?

My issue is that my brother has given me this money as gift. Please suggest how should I proceed? How should show CIC acceptable source of funds?

You can submit your monthly bank statement (the most recent) if you want but a bank-issued certificate will add credibility. You don't need to show the source right now, only when asked by VO later on.

Bank certificate should suffice Bank statements are not required unless explicitly demanded by VO. I appeared for interview with Bank certificates only. They didn't even look at those though.
