Hello All,
I have a question regarding proof of funds. I have to file immigration case but right now i havn't enough funds required by CIC.

I have a property and when i get confirmation for visa i can sold it to fulfill the funds requirment but that does not show my saving history.. did this would be considerable?
or
If my father gave me a the amount as gift and deposit my bank account then ???

The rules say you cannot borrow the funds, but there is nothing to stop you from selling your property, once you are able to prove that you did not borrow the money you are ok. It doesnt matter how else you got it (just not from borrowing) This is my opinion.

Hey the money has to be in your name so if you father gives you the money and you put it in a bank account in your name that is you money and you can show it as prove of funs just make sure you have the required amount of money when yuou finally land in canada.

Thanks Rascojenkins,

So you mean that i can show the evidence for the proof of funds is the bank letter only which shows my current balance not the whole transaction history.
Did you think that the bank letter is enough for proof of funds or is there any sort of form or certificate through which i can proof the gifted amount?

Is it essential to have the funds in my name alone?

Is it ok to have part of the funds in the name of my wife, who will be accompanying along with me? Because we have many Fixed Deposits in her name, which we plan to include in POF.

Also, I have a Canadian Bank account with BMO, in which I'm holding over $10k. Will I need a bank letter of that account as well?

rgds,
Aanbaan

My bank does not issue bank letter. Instead, they have provided me my 6 months statement of account with their official stamp on it. Is this acceptable? Thank you

Proof of Funds

I've a Query;
I've my funds in US bank a/c, on landing can I tell the officer so.. and that I've debit card for that a/c, with which I can withdraw cash when ever needed and also that it can be swiped when purchases made. Will this do..

Or do I specifically take hard cash to show my proof of funds....

thank you
