I'm planning on temporarily immigrating to Canada in September to study for a year. I've been accepted into a private institute, and I've got most of my documents together to apply for the Study Permit. But I'm struggling with the Proof of Means of Financial Support section.
Personally, I only have about $3,500 CAD. My total expenses for this year (school/living expenses) will be around $45,000 CAD. Various family members have generously promised to contribute to my expenses, and I'll be working as much as possible over the next six months and (if possible) while in Canada. I plan to cover the remaining expenses with a personal loan, with my father co-signing and covering payments until I'm out of school.
I've been waiting to actually apply for the loan until the money is needed, to avoid paying more interest than I need to. So I'm not sure what proofs to show for this, and I'm not sure what proofs I can provide concerning the support of my family...and I can't apply for a job in Canada until I have the permit to do so...
