Hi I have queries about Proof of funds

1. My parents are not interested in immigrating to canada,I am filling for my wife and myself only, will I have to show pof for 2 members or 4 members.

2. Is it true that I have to maintain this balance for 6 months.

3.I have a fixed deposit that covers the amount of 2 people(POF) in my own bank account,I plan to mature it that when ITA comes so that the amount will display in my bank account.Should I mature it now or its ok to mature it when ITA comes, the FD is in my own name and linked to my bank account.

Thanks

1. Two members as long as you don't have any children

2. No

3. Mature it when you receive your ITA but before submitting enclose proof that it was a fixed deposit which you matured

Regarding the 3rd doubt

Can I get a written letter from the bank that this FD was linked to my bank account, would that suffice or is there any particular template for that.

Thanks a ton for your reply anyways.

Yes it doesn't hurt to provide the letter as no information is too much. There's no particular template for that, however when you've transferred the funds to your account you'll still need to provide a letter showing 6 month's average account balance, opening account date etc as requested by CIC.

I have GIC funds (majority of my saving)under my name in a Canadian bank, which will mature in this September. But my personal chequeing and saving accounts are just with little balance. Will this count?

Nope this will not suffice because the funds have to be unencumbered and as this matures in September isn't readily available.
