Proof of funds for temporary work visa?

In the coming months, I'll be completing a course and an exam to obtain a British Columbia security license. I currently live in the US. With my licensure, I will be looking to get a job in BC. When/if I receive a job offer, and the subsequent positive lmia letter, will I be required to show proof of funds for myself?

I've read that with a valid job offer I would not have to show proof of funds. However, I've seen posts where the author claimed that this was not the case and that they were still asked to show proof of funds.

Any clarification would be appreciated.
Also, I'm a bit ignorant to the specifics on the Express Entry. Would my security licensing make me an eligible candidate? Currently, I am only looking to stay in Canada temporarily. This is, potentially, subject to change.

No idea what obtaining a security licence means but as far as EE is concerned see if you can find your job role/duties in the following link. If classified as 0,A or B then that would be classified as skilled and improve chances of an EE application. There are of course other requirements as well bu5 that would be a start.
