Greetings:

Thank you very much for your helpful responses so far.

At the time I was applying for my PR as a single applicant (daughter and her mum will not be joining me in Canada but they I submitted their medicals and police reports), I was asked “will your family be accompanying you” and I responded with a “NO”. At the point of submission, I had to increase the proof of funds to cover a family of three even though I had given these responses. I then successfully submitted my application.

Although I included evidence of POF for just me since I am a single applicant, I explained in a letter that I had to increase the funds since I was unable to submit but emphasised again that they will not be accompanying me and I am applying alone.

I called the IRCC and was told that my application was ineligible though I could hear from them in a few months (I had ordered GCMS notes due in weeks). The agent was not able to tell me specifics other than that.

Has this ever happened to anyone?

If indeed it is inadequate funds/Proof of funds, should I have included funds for three even though I am applying alone? I assumed my letter explaining was clear enough but could this have been missed? Would the GCMS notes possibly state that I should have done this so I can rectify (I would not want to show increased POF on the basis of an assumption).

Thank you very much for your help so far.

Best,

You need to show funds for three even if they are not accompanying. You can expect your application to be rejected at this point.

Thank you IMMENSELY for the response.

Would the GCMS notes be specific in telling me this? Should I wait a few weeks? OR rectify now and use a web form and upload the new POF?

Please what do you advise?

If you have POF now, send it via web form immediately but there's no guarantee they'll accept it at this point. You can only hope for the best.

Unfortunately you dropped the ball on this. It's written clearly on IRCC website:

The amount of money you need to support your family depends on the size of your family. To calculate the size of your family you must include
  • yourself
  • your spouse or partner
  • your dependent children and
  • your spouse’s dependent children
Include your spouse or dependent children even if they’re
  • permanent residents or Canadian citizens
  • not coming to Canada with you

Thank you very much for your response.

I totally did not know this.

I will do this immediately and then explain in a letter to them.

Could they "punish" ignorance or this oversight on my part? The agent said it was not "rejected" but they could respond in 3-4 months.

I am currently here in Canada on a work permit so the issue is them NOT coming to Canada (which they are not......)

OR

Should I wait for the GCMS notes (due August 15) and HOPE this is stated so I then respond?

Please what do you think?

I will do so immediately. And Pray.

In your opinion, do you think that it "helps" that this issue was noted six weeks ago but my application was not rejected there and then? The agent only said "thankfully it has not been rejected but there may be some checks that need to be done".

Could I be kicked out of Canada?

I am worried and confused.

Greetings:

The proof of funds will be sent tomorrow at the latest. With a short explaining this.

I appreciate that it is an important enough issue to be addressed but do you think it could affect this particular application? Perhaps I will have to apply again or leave?

I only had 6 weeks to the end of 6 months.

I am quite worried.

It's hard to say what is going to happen. The application you submitted was incomplete since you failed to provide the POF required. At this point you've done what you can to fix this. I don't think it's possible for any of us to say if you will be refused or approved. If IRCC follows the rules by the book, you should be refused. However it's always possible the visa officer may show some flexibility. Again, impossible for us to say.

BTW: You should fire your agent. This is very very basic stuff and your agent should have known that it was mandatory for you to show POF for three people.
