Hello everyone,

I have received an ITA under the French stream. I'm the primary applicant, the dependents are my wife and child.

The funds we are planning on using are all in a saving account under my wife's name. We have a letter from the bank stating her balance (around 40k CAD) for both her checking account and savings account and that she doesn't have any debt. We have her statements for the last 6 months. She has signed a letter saying I have full access to the funds.

My question is, do I still have to provide bank letters and statements for my own separate account that will not be used as proof?

Thank you.

You can use your wife's bank account as proof of funds but you need to show some confirmation that you have full access to it.

As for your question, you'd better do it to show that you have no debts.

Thank you for the quick reply.

If I have a loan on my own account, do they deduct it from my wife's 40k to get the final figure?
