Hi all

I will be landing next week in Toronto ...we are a couple ...(me and my wife) I am taking 14000 Canadian Dollar in the form of Travellers Cheque . I am flying from UK to Canada . Can anyone help and advise me ...do I need to fill up any form to declare the amount or advise me the procedure of declaring the amount ...

Your advise will be highly appreciated

Thanks

You will most likely get the customs declaration forms in your plane to Canada, where you should declare any amount more than $10 K and expensive items that you have (or are bringing at a later point) with you. Refer to the following link for everything you need to be know about landing:

As you are carrying $10k or more You will be required to fill this form E677

http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/e677.pdf

You can fill the form in advance but sign and date in front of immigration officer.

On plane you will also get this declaration card

http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/e311-eng.pdf

Tick yes "I am bringing in to Canada currency or monetary instrument totalling canadian $10k or more"..
