My bank can write the pof letter, more or less to CIC standards (I know! I'm amazed too!), but they will only do it if I can provide a name and address for CIC, even though they are going to post the letter to me, and I will upload it.

I appreciate that 'name' is going to have to be 'Immigration officer' (am really hoping my bank will accept this), but can anyone help me with a postal address? I've looked online for IRCC offices, but there are dozens... do I just pull one out of a hat, or is one more correct than others?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Also, I am really sorry I didn't post this query in the other 'Proof of Funds' thread, but I couldn't find it earlier... sorry! I did look!

Thank you so much for replying!

Lucky you. which bank is this? if it's my bank too, I can try my luck asking for a CIC format letter. My bank in India is willing but I have held funds for a shorter period of time. My bank in the UK has refused.

Hi xpressentry. My bank is First Direct in the UK (part of HSBC). They have been very helpful on this matter, but unfortunately very unhelpful with money orders/drafts - I received a PN, but couldn't proceed with it because my bank couldn't do a paper-based funds transfer (everything is electronic), and the fees had to be paid by either money order or certified cheque.

I bank with Barclays. They are not willing to give me a 6 month average and convert my GBP into CAD. Is first direct willing to do that?

Just print bank statements. Moving the money around will mean that you have to provide the statements of where the money came from anyway.

There's no need for them to convert to cad anyway, just print off the conversion from Bank of Canada website.

First Direct have now backtracked with what they can do, so it won't be matching the instructions after all (sigh). I'd follow Kryt0n's advice, for sure.
