Hello all,

I have read a lot of times here that is someone providing money to the student in order to study in Canada the sponsor has to send many documents of the him/her self .

But the site, Visa Office is clear and needs only this:
a letter from the person or institution providing you with money;
(copy from site)

and nothing else about the sponsor!

Can you show me where in the site of CIC.gc.ca indicates about other documents like; 1 year bank statements, incomes funds and other papers ?

Thanks

Can someone provide any links from the official site of CIC.gc.ca about the proof of funding of the sponsor?

Dear please read the check list where it says in 8th Question/Box:

Proof of financial support for the duration of your studies in Canada.

For that you need to show that you have sufficient funds for past 4 months for your study and living expense.

Thanks
Ayaz

Hi Ayaz and thank you for your reply.

Proof of funds I think is not a proper way to show 4 months bank statements.
I have 15000$ starting from this month.
The previous 3 months I had less.
Is that a problem?

Or to wait for other months in order to show money of 4 months.
This is a cheat way and it doesn't prove something.

In my case I will show 3 months with average 1300$
and the last month 15000$.
Finally a letter form my aunt (the only document from the official site that visa requires) that she gave me the money to go for studies.
Why? Because money is from aunt and she can do with them whatever she wants.

For sponsorship you need;

1. One reference letter (good if it's on official letter head) showing,

- Sponsor occupation
- Relationship to you
- Number of dependent they have!
- Full Contact details.
- One letter from the Sponsor's employer (on a letter head) showing;

1. Employer contact details
2. Business address.

* In case your possible sponsor lives abroad thn you also need;

1. Passport copy with Visa status.
2. SIN number /Identity card, if any.
3. ITR details.
4. Bank statement

For your reference I quote one post of dadakoko, a member who has secured visa based on two sponsorship. It's very useful.

"Hi All,

Enfield is it a claim if I have gotten the Visa?

Yes I got the Visa and yes I had sponsors from 2 countries but this is what I did:

a) I made sure I had the $10,000 needed for me the main sponsor and $4,000 for my spouse in my account for about 4 months.

b) I paid 1 year Tuition fees.

c) My Admission letter stated that I would need about $29,000 for 1 year. I therefore made sure I had about $15,000 in addition to the amount in (a) above to make the $29,000.

d) My sponsors sent in their letter of sponsorship as well as 6 months bank statements and other relevant investments documents. They also sent in their Visa status in the respective countries of residence.

In addition to the above of course I added, my SOP and other relevant documents.

Yes you can use sponsors from any where in the world as far as you can prove relationship and ensure the required monies are in your account. That is what I did!"

My 2 year program's annual Tuition Fee is (CAD14000) + Campus Accomodation Including Meal Plan is (CAD8000)

I have CAD30000 Bank Account.

SO, according to the formula=14000+10000+2000=$26000CAD

If I pay one semester fee+accomdation (CAD7000)+(CAD8000)=$15000
My Bank Account will be left with $15000.

Is that enough to show with the proof of payments?

and furthermore If my Father is my sponsor and the money is in my account...
then whose Bank Statement should i show to the VO?

If the Money is in my account then is my own bank statement enough with my father's salary certificate+employer's letter to show the proof of funds.

the issue here is anyone can write a sponsorship letter but he must show that he actually has the capacity to sponsor someone. that where docs like bank statement and proof of source of income come into the equation.

I hope that helps you

Hi Enfield,

Thank of all your help so far!!!
I would like to ask about this:

- One letter from the Sponsor's employer (on a letter head) showing;

1. Employer contact details
2. Business address.

Do you have any links of letter from the Sponsor's employer???
How is the format of this document?

1. Sorry, I do not have any format. Write it as simple as possible (and to the point).

Thank you Enfield!

One last question about the financial support.
The 2 letters ?
1. One reference letter from the sponsor
2. One letter from the Sponsor's employer

must be from notary?
