I am going for the Citizenship oath in a couple of weeks and just found out that unless I have Canadian birth certificate (which I obviously dont!) I need to apply for Proof of citizenship before I can get a passport aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the Proof of Citizenship processing time is 10 months!!! 
after which once you apply for the passport, you can get it in 10 business days
To be honest, I am fed up of the processing times and staring at ECAS day after day...
Why would/ should it take 10 months to get a certificate when your citizenship application is already processed and approved and the proof of citizenship application form asks the same questions which you have answered on a million CIC forms before you get to this stage???
This is really insane. I feel like I will never be done with CIC [size=10pt][size=10pt]EVER[/size][/size]
