Hi All,
I have applied the proof of citizenship for my Child born in a foreign country who is now 5 years old. However, it has been 6 months, but I even't haven't received a UCI. Is there a phone number or email that I can contact IRCC?

I have tried to submit the online form, but not reply at all....
We have been separated for 6 months because of this and it really suffers.

Why are you separated? You can apply for a temporary passport for the child before the proof of citizenship is received, you do so on the basis of/with a copy of the application for proof of citizenship. Contact Global Affairs consular line or the consular section of the embassy/high commission.

Basically they issue the temp passport on the basis the child is presumed to be a citizen.

As far as I know, the temp passport is only available for Child under 2 years old. But I will definitely call to find out to see if there is a chance for me to apply that in my case. Thanks for the advice.

I am quite sure that a temp passport is not only for children under 2, can even be issued to adults in need. And at any rate, they will issue docs to presumed citizens. But do contact to find out what they will do and let us know.

Note, they would of course prefer to have you wait to get citizenship so when you need to travel will be a factor.

I've actually heard the same about the child being under 2. Yes, temp passports are available to adults. However this is in cases where it's already known that the adult is a citizen. The scenario we are discussing here is where people are still waiting for proof of citizenship to be processed for a child and citizenship is technically not confirmed. In cases where proof of citizenship is still being processed, my understanding is that the temp passport will only be issued to children under or up to 2 years of age. I am not 100% certain of this. But this has been posted here a number of times before.

I look forward to hearing what the consular section says, then. I'm quite sure that the answer will not be 'you must wait until citizenship confirmed' (except possibly where applicant says no plans to travel to Canada at all, where they could tell you to wait).
