Please I need help. I have a BSc in economics and an MBA with 10 years work experience in banking. I recently lost my job and I have decided to study in Canada. My major challenge is deciding on what program to run. My sister suggested that I do global business management (pgd) in humber college but I'm wondering if it is okay to go for a pgd after an MBA. Also I'm a bit skeptical about going to a college due to what I have heard that more recognition is given to university graduates than those from colleges.

Can someone please help out because i need to decide on what program that is related to my field to avoid study permit issues. Please please please your kind suggestions will be appreciated. I'm looking at winter admission 2017.

Thank you all in advance

It doesn't make much sense to take a PGD after an MBA. A PGD is a lower level of education. Having said that - some people are approved.

Thanks scylla and Regina for your kind responses.

I totally agree that a PGD after an MBA doesn't really add up. I have tried looking for some masters degree programs based on your suggestions but they all require a GMAT score.

Please I really need suggestions on possible masters degree programs or bette still if someone has first hand info on the possibility of a study permit for a pgd program after an MBA.

Kindly help a sister who really needs to study in Canada and possibly obtain a PR in the near future

No - they don't. Sounds like you need to do more thorough research.

Masters in business require a GMAT test score.

OK I'll do more research like you rightly suggested. I hope to find one that will be a bit related to my field.

Thank you scylla and Regina. :D

I still wouldn't mind more suggestions from you if you can.

Thank you again

u can do an MBA with an Co - op Program which will give you 1 year of Canadian exp , which seems to be most important factor in getting the job in Canada or Master program in Finance or Management.

totally agreed with you. If one can get a co-op, that would be really helpful for making contacts, work ex and money all together.

I don't think a post graduate certificate is acceptsble while having your masters, you should be upgrading like phd.

You asked this a few years back and now I'm in a similar situation. Did you apply for a PGD course or another masters?
