i want to know if the processing time in a visa office for the husband take long time than the wife ?????

CIC doesnt queue applications based on gender everyone is processed equally to the timelines of that office

technically that's true, but in some offices sponsoring a wife is much faster than sponsoring a husband. especially in africa, it is looked at with more suspicion if the wife is canadian. seems they think only men can scam!

i too was wondering the same thing...i think if person being sponsored is a wife they tend to get visa quickly than husbands...i think they normally suspect a man who marries a canadian wife and do more checks on them....also,mostly men travel a lot than women hence they also have longer background and security checks than wives who mostly have a fresh PP without any travel history....

Well these circumstances yes but it's a little more than gender based, they base that on the prevalence of immigration fraud stemming from the region. Not wanting to insult anyone, but an area where there is a higher prevelance of younger men marrying older women to obtain PR in canada is going to be more scrutinized. I think in the bigger scheme of things this is based on occurance factor rather than gender factor. An application not counting social, regional issues is processed indescrimiatly when it comes to gender.

i woould like to add my two cents as well
My husband has sponsored me from canada and it has been exactly 11 months and no sign of my visa

You're a little over the 9 months processing time, maybe you should send a case specific email to them asking why it is taking longer than the current processing times. usually it is something like CSIC checks that hold these applications up.

edit:: reading the islamabad forum it seems you did. Well i doubt it is gender based if it is a small consolation, I'm white, male, from the UK and i applied inland and the process took me 5 years!!
