Quick question: how long does the process time take after applying for PR? And would you have to be unemployed until a decision has been made of your over on a tourist visa?

4 months to 2.5 years.

If you would like to actually share some info, such as where you are from, whether you are applying inland or outland, your relationship history, what proofs you will submit etc., I could narrow it down a bit....

Visitors can't work.

Sorry, basically im from England and woul be applying inland if I think it would be a quick process on a visitor visa, if it would take longer I would be applying Outland. We met through work and would've been living together for around 7-8 months before my work visa expires but in a relationship in total for 28 months by that time. The proof id be sending is photos of us on holidays, I have plenty of texts dating way back, letters from family and friends stating we are in a relationship. Wpuld you know of any other proof that would work in my benefit? Thanks for the reply.

You have to be either common-law, which means living together continuously for at least a year, or married to apply. If you are not getting married, you are going to need to prove that you actually lived together for a year. Joint lease, utility bills with both names, joint bank/credit card statements, mail in both or individual names with the same address, IDs with the same address, etc.

Inland can take up to 2 years or more. IRCC has been speeding it up but there are no guarantees and no one on this forum can tell you how long it would take. Outland, you are looking at around 8-9 months if your app goes to London or around 6 months if it goes to Ottawa (IRCC decides which VO, you don't get to pick).
