Temporary resident visa, study or work permit applicants who do not include a legible 2D barcode page as part of their application should expect a much longer processing times. Please see below for more information.
Processing times listed on the CIC website are average historical processing times. Some applications take longer to process for various reasons. For example, the following factors could delay the processing of your application:

applications which do not include a legible 2D barcode;
incomplete applications;

background or security checks required;
criminal record;
interview required;
verification of documents needed; or
other factors that complicate your case

Hi,

I am working in Delhi Police for the last 17 years and now I have taken admission in Norquest College, Edmonton Ab, Canada in 2 years Diploma in Social Science. My IELTS Score is 6.5 (academics). I have applied for study permit on 18th June 2014 from VFS Delhi but till date I did not hear from Embassy about my study permit. My session will be started from 29th August 2014. Anyone can suggest me what will be reason for delay for finalizing my application? What steps should be taken by me in this regard?
