Please can you tell us what additional documents were you asked for? Did you miss something while you sent your detailed application to London?

Dear Raj,
Looking into your sequence, it resembles mine. I was asked for additional documents in April 2009 and since then till September (6 Months) i am waiting for my Medicals.
My initial application to London CHC was sent in June 2008, so since June till today its (16 Months) waiting time for me.

So you can now estimate yours. Wish you good luck.

I differs for each applicant. If all documents listed in the guide are submitted and they dont have any doubts about its authenticity, then they wont be asking any additional documents. Sometimes they ask updates of expired PCC's. In some cases they ask for more proof of your employment, like internal memos from the company addressed specifically to you, pay slips, salary increament papers. These docs are not in the list of required documents but if IO is not so convinced about the legitimacy of your employment background, then they might ask you these documents mentioned earlier. Sometimes they will ask you some additional documents to explain why in your proof of funds (bank statement) you have huge amount deposited in one time recently, they might ask some proof of property sales if you did this to comply with the POF requirements. They want to ensure that you did not borrow money just to comply with the requirements. Its case to case basis, To avoid this, then we must follow strictly the instructions as per CIC's guide. If there are unavoidable circumstances where we cant follow the guideline, then we must give them a cover letter explaining the reasons, even before they ask for it, to avoid any delays in the processing.
