processing time help needed

dear friends
i filled in my application under fsw program ithis year.my application reached the sydney office on 30th august. I have not been updated about my application status. how much time it comes to know whether i have got positive assesment or not. Please suggest some method by which i can check my status . is there any applicant here who applied this year and got news about his application.

CIC is still working on applications from July - so it is still far too early for you to receive any updates on your application. It will likely take another 1-2 months before you have an update.

Agreed with scylla here. At present applicants from first week of July are getting their application fees charged. CIC actually does not acknowledge receipt of application in the form of email.

If your payment mode is credit card then the first positive sign that come from CIC is in the form of your CC charge. It comes after 8 to 12 weeks. Fee charge is followed by the PER (positive eligibility review) mail after another 1 to 2 weeks if application is complete in all respects. However if your payment mode is DD then you have to wait for PER mail (9 to 14 weeks). This means you probably have to wait atleast by mid of November.

You can send an enquiry to CIO at: CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry @ cic.gc.ca (without spaces) regarding status of your application. But you must send an enquiry only after 10 weeks after receipt of your application at CIO, otherwise you won't get any response.
