Processing time for TRV with in Canada (from Ottawa)

I have applied for TRV from Ottawa after obtaining BOWP on 12th Aug , Paper application (I did paper application because i have applied for myself and my spouse together ). I have a trip planned outside Canada last week of this month , I am worried whether i can get my passport back with VISA stamped. Can you guys tell me how much time it is taking now a days to get TRV approved from Ottawa for paper application.
CIC website was not updated the timing for past 2 weeks,
 
In general online applications are processed faster than paper applications. As per the recent update (Sep 4), paper applications are taking on an average 35 days and online application 20 days. You can check the status on the CIC website by clicking this link:

PAFSO strike is delaying visa processing a little bit, however I have seen some people getting their TRV as per the posted time. FYI, CIC website is updated every week usually on Wednesdays.

If you apply online , Once your application approved , VISA -office will ask you to send passport for stamping.
 
Normally paper applications can take anywhere between 4-8 weeks.

When did u apply?
 
I applied for my TRV online on 3rd sept....Does the 20 days (online) include the time they ask for passport-passport being stamped?

Secondly i have to go to India urgently soo can I go to India and when they ask for passport fed ex it from India...Please advise not sure quite wht to do..
 
You are in a difficult situation.
Processing times that they have displayed are only approximate.
Processing times for online doesn't include sendning and receiving a passport.
Also, I heard that you cannot send the passport from abroad. It may be possible only if you send it to someone here in canada, and then
they send it to ottawa for visa stamping. They will not send it from ottawa anywhere outside canada (period). That's what I heard. I was in a similar situation and inquired about this specific part and was told it's not possible. So I think the only way for you is to send it to a friend in Canada, then they will send it ottawa, and once it goes back to your friend, then you friend will have to mail it back to you in india. Although I am not 100% sure it would work. Technically I can't see a reason it shouldn't, but I would double-check.
In any case you already have an application in process, so see how it goes.
Also in my case processing time was 26 days, but it took 47, that was just to get a passport request. I sent my passport late last week to Ottawa, and they have received it today. I'll see how long it would take them to put a visa in there and mail it back. Usually it can take upto a week, there are no guarantees lately.

Thank you for your reply. Could you plz do me a favor and tell me how many days it took them to stamp your passport and send it back to you, once you recieved it and can we send an empty priority post thing with our passport so that we can track it when it comes.

I sent my passport on Sept 5th, and I am still waiting for it.
Instructions specify that you can include an empty prepaid Xpresspost envelope for mailing back the passport. it has a tracking number, so by checking the number you'll know when passport is shipped back.
You can't use any other carrier, just canadapost and their xpresspost service. If you were to include a FedEx envelope for example, CIC will discard it and will use just regular mail to mail your passport back to you.
From me asking around it usually takes a week to get the passport back after mailing it, or even more.

send an e-amil to CPP-CTP-OTTAWA-TRV-VRT @ cic.gc.ca with your name dob and UCI and whne did you send the application and when it reached their office and your urgency ( may be attach your flight tickets ) then they may consider to process it faster for you.

Anybody applied for TRV from Ottawa recently ? (Valid Work permit holders currently in Canada)
My TRV application (paper) reached Ottawa on 12th Aug, Still waiting for passport , This Wednesday's CIC website status says they are working on application received on 14th Aug.

My application passport included reached Ottawa on August 12. I received my passport on September 20. The TRV was issued on september 13th.
 
Dimma, did you get your TRV, i am just in scenario like yours, sent paper application on October 3rt 2013, still no reply from cic,
i have applied for me and my spouse.

This is past the average time frame....have you inquired with CPP-O? Or perhaps even the Call Center, as instructed on the website?
 
I had mailed the CIC they say we have your application but cant confirm on the time , so just waiting
