Processing time for complete citizenship application

Hi, I received email confirmation (file no. of Citizenship application). How much is maximum citizenship waiting time ? on CIC website mentioned max is 12 months means that CIC will process citizenship application withing 12 months time period. should we contact CIC if i get no email regarding test date or feedback after waiting 12 months time period ?

The IRCC website says they are committed to 12 months. Which is from application received to decision made, ie: not the oath - which they also quote as within 3 months normally. But to be honest this is more like an average.

Many things can increase this, including non-routine applications which can be even for fingerprints (many applicants). Some take less, being in quieter offices may help here, but there are quick applications in say Montreal along with some that are well over.

Some people wait years. But there's a good chance, depending upon office, you'll at least have a Test date within 12-13 months.
