Hi guys, for your info the processing time of LMO is 8-12 weeks.
In Ontario? Where did you get that figure from?

I have been waiting 6 weeks. Both Service Canada and the immigration lawyers said we should be getting an answer this week.

From other threads there have been a few approvals in the last month or so - Wilbur's took 30 business days, "annaa"s took exactly 6 weeks and "anoop_pillai119"s was 4 weeks.

mine was 7 weeks as of yesterday. faxed to the HRSDC office in Ontario. still waiting. my employer called at about 4 weeks, and was told about the 30 business day time frame. we called again last week, after the 30 days was up and they said it will be longer.

These factors seem to affect the processing time:

Where are you applying from?
What office are you applying through?
Are you using a representative Immigration Lawyer who is experienced?
What position (NOC Code) are you applying for?
Is your application "straight-forward" (does the position and pay offered fit exactly into the NOC description)
Was the application filled in absolutely correctly and was all supporting documentation clear & concise?
What is the proposed duration of the position? (when our lawyer enquired about wait times, they were told that short term LMOs were currently being given priority)

Not all cases are the same and there isn't a standard time. All they ever say is "4-8 weeks", and this generally seems to be about right.

By the way, let us know if/when you get your approval and I'll do the same, so others can see what the approximate current processing time is.

moonlight24 and lynnard...

Would you mind telling us when you got your LMOs approved, and how long it took?
It would also be helpful if you mentioned where you applied, whether you used a representative lawyer, and what your NOC code is.

thanks.

It's not open. Service Canada changed these rules due to privacy concerns. CIC has access to the Service Canada database where the name is recorded.

Just an update. my employer called in on friday and the LMO is in the mail, should have in hand in the next day or two. Which puts it at pretty much exactly 8 weeks from the time we faxed in the LMO application. Just for reference, we're in Toronto and faxed it to the HRSDC office in Toronto. We didn't use a lawyer or representative and the application was pretty straightforward as it was a rehire/extension of a position I was already in.
