Hello guys! Just would like some insight about this one. It is a bit confusing for me or I am just plain stupid :D

Just need the computation for my family sponsorship for my wife and my daughter(1y/o)

Here is the fee schedule excerpt from CIC website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/inFORMation/fees/result.asp?countrySelect=CA&lob=fc

Thank you in advance.

oh btw, I am a PR holder currently living in Canada

So to my understanding, this is what I am suppose to pay:

Sponsorship application- 75 CAD
Principal Applicant - 475 CAD????
Spouse (my wife) - 550 CAD
A family member under 19 y/o - 150 CAD

TOTAL: 1250 CAD

I put question marks on 475 CAD because I am not sure If I have to pay for it. Is it because I am a PR living in Canada then I don't have to pay for it or is it only applicable for those principal applicant who is applying and currently on their home country and not a PR?

Should I also pay for the Right of Permanent Resident Fee (RPRF)?

Hi, I'm pretty sure I've got this right..

Sponsor application - $75
Principal Applicant - $475
Family member under 19 yrs - $150

It confuses it a lot of people. You don't pay $550 as well for your spouse, just the principal applicant's fee.

Also, you may wish to pay the Right of Permanent Residents Fee upfront too, as this speeds up your process.

Thanks! It is now a bit clearer. One more, on this site http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp#visas_permits, should I consider paying CAD$ 75 instead of CAD$ 150 for my daughter it is just because she rather fall on category "Dependent Child" instead of "Family member"?

Beaverdiva has it right. You pay the $150. Each application has ONE Principal Applicant -- and that is your wife. Your daughter is a child of the principal applicant -- hence, $150.

Also, as Beaverdiva mentioned, STRONGLY consider also including the RPRF fee (Right of Permanent Residence Fee) -- which doesn't seem to be mentioned on this page for some reason. It will add around $500 to your application but speed things up down the road.
