Hi Everyone,

Below is my case.

Created Express Entry profile on Jan 15, 2016
Received Invitation from Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) on Jan 18, 2016
Submitted my Application for Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) on Feb 09, 2016
Nomination received on December 15, 2016. I am a CEC inland.

I then received Express Entry invitation and submitted all the documents on Jan 16, 2016. Currently I am on a post graduation work permit in Canada and my permit expires on April 11, 2017. Can someone please tell me if i am eligible to apply for a open bridge work permit ? I am not able to find any good resource for this. I also heard that i could try a flagpole at the border but not sure how effective this is. I just don't want to have my permit expire since that would mean i can't work here anymore and will lose my current job.

Your advise and help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

Since your work permit is expiring in less than 4 months, you can apply for BOWP. To apply for BOWP, go via the Come to Canada tool, generate a personal checklist number, and then apply via your MyCIC account.

You would need, IMM5710E, Digital Photo, Passport and LOE (Letter of Explanation) for you BOWP Application. (More info - http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/tips-for-a-successful-bowp-application-t147650.0.html

In your LOE, write a letter indicating which permit (BOWP) and why are you applying and on what basis you are applying (Received AOR). To support your letter, attach AOR from PR file, as well as your PGWP, to the PDF file.

To find more about BOWP, you can read here - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/permit/extend/permanent.asp

For LOE Structure - http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/bowp-explanation-letter-t189398.0.html

Hope that would help,
