Hi all,

My wife and son PR card expired on july 23,2018 ( PR issued on May 2013 ) and they only been to canada for 2 months in the last 5 years. there were reasons but i dont know if it is acceptable or not by IRCC,like

2014- father in law died of cancer ,wife stayed with her family to support them financially.
2015 -wife enrolled in university to continue her bachelor as nurses in canada need bachelor degree to be R.N.

2016-wife and kids came to canada, but they return back as i lost my job and wife got back to her previous job back home.

2017+2018: was trying to apply for TRP/TRV for 2 child daughters to accompany wife and son who r PR, but embassy kept refusing their visit visa and wife couldnt leave them alone and move to canada.

so,i dont know if revoking their PR status is better solution and sponsor them again..!

if i go down this route,i have the below questions ,appreciate ur assistant answering them

1- where to find the document check list and complete application documents for PR renouncing application.

2- how long the process will take

3- do my wife and son have to sumbit the original PR expired card

4- do they have to sumbit their OHIP as well.

5- once their PR is revoked, how soon can I apply to spnosor them again.

6- will renouncing their PR have effect on the future PR sponsorship?

7- i am in the process of renewing my PR card,i still didnt receive any update on my application, i am afraid they will take my case to a secondary review which i heard it will take one year.
will this have effect on sponsoring my family.( CAN I START THE FAMILY SPONSORSHIP APPLICATION NOW WHILE MY PR CARD IS BEING REVIEWING OR ONCE I GOT A GREEN LIGHT ON MY PR CARD RENEWAL)

any other advises from ur experience and knoweledge is highly appreciated.

They should renounce their PR status - it doesn't sound like there are H&C grounds for arguing to keep their status. As soon as their PR status is revoked, you can sponsor them for PR. The process should take around a year to complete. As long as you meet the residency requirement at the time you submit the sponsorship application, you do not have to wait until you have a valid PR card to apply. Having said that, IRCC most likely will not complete the processing of the sponsorship application until your PR card renewal is approved.
