Confusion in form

(1) "Schedule A – Background Declaration [IMM 5669] IMM5669E" in Section 7 Education

My wife completed 11 and 12 in 3 years as she got fail in 12th So should I write in High School Column
(Standard 8 to 12) 5 years or 6 years

Between graduation and post graduation there is a gap due to marriage so what to write in Post
Secondary School ?

(2) "Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008] IMM0008ENU_2D" in Education and Occupation Detail
Section Number of years of Education in total : (should I count 12th Std fail year also ?)

1 write 6 yrs,if there is gap u have to support it with some documents post secondary school will be graduation

My wife started BCA in 2005 and completed in 2008
She started MCA in 2009 and completed in 2012
so there is a gap during 2008 to 2009. As she was at home during that time. How to prove gap ? can you give suggestion ?
