Yesterday my paternal aunt came from Canada to Pakistan she is Canadian citizen and 60+ older, she went there on visit visa later on got sponsered by her daughter. I told and show her my interest for canadain Immigration and as per provided information on this forum I asked her for her Marriager and birth certificate for claiming 5 points but she said that she already has lost her (Pakistani) marriage certificate and birth certificate as well, although, she can provide me her copy of Citizen card, copy of Canadian passport, SIN ..etc..

you guys pls suggest either these documents could support my application for claiming 5 points? or do I required additional documents for the same?

Pls suggest..

Regards..

HI,

If she is in Pakistan right now, I'm sure she must be able to get new documents. One thing is to prove her citizenship, but you will also need to prove the relationship.

Regards.

Actually she migrated from India to Pakistan and she cant arrage her birth certificate from India, currently she is staying at my home but I am working in KSA, I know that CIC can get all the data like my grand father name by just one click through her ID. But pls advice that her copy of Citizenship card, copy of Canadian passport, SIN would be enough for the same or mariage and birth certificates are still mandatory??

Pls guide

Regards

The things you are mentioning are ok to prove she is a Citizen of Canada, but none of those documents will prove that she is your aunt.

Regards.

juanda78 is right.

you cannot get the 5 points if you cannot prove that you are related to your aunt.

I talked her in details she can provide me photocopies of all the relevant documents like her marriage certificate, Canadian passport, PR Card, SIN Card, Pakistani NIC but she can't arrange her birth certificate because she was born in India then migrated to Pakistan and missplaced her BC.

On her Pakistani NIC card and marriage certificate clearly written my Grand Father name so it would be enough or still required BC? as I can send an explanation letter to CIC thay why I can't arrange her BC so do they accept it?

Pls suggest

Regards.

Well it that all u've got then I think you can give it a shot with an explation letter.let other members coment

Now a days NADRA is issuing a Family Registration Certificate for 500 rupees fee.
This certificate gives you name of your parents and your family tree either with you husband and children or with your brothers and sisters...
I think with NIC and marriage certificate you do not need any but you can go for this FRC because this is a conclusive proof of relationship now a days.

Thanks S.K

I will confirm from the concerned department for this certificate. Do you think this certificate would be suffice in replacement of Birth Certificate for the CIC?

Regards

Off course it is... I have heard that this certificate is goning to be mandatory in next couple of years of all applicant to prove relationship.... I myself provided this certificate to prove relationship with my brother

S.K, could you tell me pls that should I get make this certificate for myself or for my aunty??

What I understand that, it should be make for my aunty coz in her famliy tree definitley the name of my grand father and father name must be there which will be helpful for me, am I right???

As per rupeshhari, he suggested me to arrange a declaration from notorized office with stated that she is migrated from India and her BC can't arrange from Pakistan so I think it will be more suffice with FRC.

What do you think??

Regards

how is she related to you? if she is your father's sister, then i think the marriage certificate should be enough to prove the relationship. because the marriage certificate will also have her father's name. below is what the checklist for CHC Islamabad states that gives me an impression as if they want you to submit either the birth certificate or marriage certificate.

"Proof of relationship to any close relative in Canada, such as birth, marriage or
adoption certificates and proof of that person’s status in Canada".

Yes she is my father's sister and thanks for confirming, I would like to tell you that currently I am working in KSA and definiely will apply through London office so checklist of CHC London is different from CHC Islamabad ?? or marriage certificate is suffice for CHC London as well??
