Points for CLose Relative

Hi members,

I am claiming 5 points for my close relative in Canada under FSW 2014. She is niece of my spouse.

I am attaching all the required documents i.e her date of birth certificate, her citizenship card, Canadian passport, Indian passport mentioning her parents name, her parents marriage certificate and a notorized affidavit from my spouse, declaring she is in blood relation.

Are these documents sufficient? Do my relative also need to send some declaration letter that she is our maternal niece?

Please advise..

1. Nope, passport is not acceptable.
2. You will need a copy of the niece's birth certificate or (10th) a copy of her parents birth certificate, whichever one is related to your wife (that persons 10th) your wife's birth certificate, showing the same parents as her sister/brother's birth certificate.
3. You also require proof that she is living in Canada, rent receipts, CC bills, Income tax, or similar.
4. The declaration letter is not worth the paper it is written on to CIC, it is considered self serving.

I have similar issue.
My uncle have pr copy, passport copy , birth certificate copy and my fathers birth certificate copy. Rest other documents I don't have, because my uncle staying in cousin own home, uncle retired and too old over 66years they don't have credit card or bank accounts.

Please suggest...

He should still be filing taxes. So he should be able to provide his income tax return as proof. If he can't provide some sort of proof that he is living in Canada you should probably forget about the 5 points.

Ok I will ask they landed couple of months ago as new immigrant and received his pr card just.

then he can open a bank account and get a credit card . do some purchase from credit card and show that transaction in bank statement as well as in credit card statement

Ok that's good idea, if they got mobile than mobile statement also good?
