Hello, my wife was at the interview few days ago in Manila cdn VO. She answered all questions very well, but at the end, the officer told her than the VO found than the birth certificate of her daughter was changed and it's a false declaration and it's a criminal offence. My wife said than it's her ex-boyfriend who made change on the birth certificate because he don't want to see his daughter to go to Canada. my wife applied for a permanent resident visa for coming alone, because her ex-boyfriend is the guardian of the daughter. The officer said: we will review your document and make a decision, you will receive an email in few days. The ex of my wife has changed the birth certificate last year when he knows than we will get marry. He has changed the name and the birthday of his daughter.(very crazy man) Can the VO refuse the application of my wife? even if she swear than she never made any change. Will they believe her? Do they record the interview? because she gave all explications about it, but the officer was mad at her. What do you think about this situation? thank you very much.

Why didn't you get another copy of the birth certificate ?
Unfortunately, in my opinion, it doesn't look too good for you guys.
I'm sure the officer will now question all of the documents in your application

Good Luck !

Whe don't have the original document because this is the one who is registered at NSO (national statistic office) and we can't change because it's a fraud. Her ex-boyfriend paid someone(corrupt) to make the change.

Ok. I'm not really sure what you can do som
Perhaps you need to speak to a lawyer about this
I hope it works out for you

the officer said to my wife at the end of the interview: we will review your document and make a decision. You will receive an email in few days. Can they make a decision faster(few days)?

To be honest I have no idea but if they said a few days, that seems pretty good to me. Normally anything to do with immigration takes for ever !!

I hope they will believe my wife. If they refuse her application for this document, i will appeal the decision and ask to a lawyer. thank you.

If you get a refusal in the worst case scenario, appeal the decision. It would be good to consult a good lawyer and ask for professional advice. If her ex did a fraud, try to get evidence to prove your case and his fraud. At this moment, wait for the decision.

We still waiting the decision and appeal if they refuse. For us, it will be easy to prove the fact because the name of the mother don't appear on the birth certificate. A mother who love her daughter will never scratch her name on the certificate.

Did your wife submitted an authenticated (NSO) Birth Certificate of her daughter when you submitted her application for Spousal Sponsorship? I believe that even if the child is not accompanying you still have to submit a birth certificate (Manila Visa Office Requirement) or i might be wrong.
How can it be possible for the ex boyfriend to go to the Local Civil Registrar and finally for the NCSO (National Census and Statistics Office) to change some data in the Birth Certificate, you need a court order for that.
Did your wife declared that she has a child with her ex boyfriend and did she showed any Legal document to show that the ex boyfriend has full custody of the child, the reason why the child wasn`t examined?

Just wait for the response. i hope all will be well.

My wife submitted authenticated birth certificate from the NSO of her child, and she submit even if the child is not accompanying. Her ex-boyfriend pay and corrupt someone at NSO to change the birth certificate. It's bad to say but it's how it work in Philippines. My wife declared her child and Manila Visa Ofiice know all about her story with her ex-boyfriend because they asked her last july(2011) to write a letter to say how was her story with her ex-boyfriend from the beginning to the end. I hope the VO will give her the visa. thanks.

hayyy, i received a call from the embassy last hour and they ask me to give explications about the birth certificate. They gave me the chance to say all they need to know. They told me we will take a decision very soon. I'm so happy now and i'm more positive than before.I hope to have a good answer now. thanks to all.
